Consultation = Meet with the doctor in an exam room with your pet. The doctor will examine your pet's mouth (as best as possible, given some pets are hesitant when nervous or in pain). They will talk to you about expectations, oral health, common concerns for your pet's species and breed, anything they see specific to your pet, answer your questions, etc. Procedure = Full assessment under general anesthesia (full mouth intraoral radiographs, cone beam CT scan, and visual inspection of all teeth and soft tissues of the mouth). If treatment is recommended, the doctor will contact you via phone to discuss treatment options while your pet is still under anesthesia. They will then complete the option(s) you choose.
